July 2024

Hello Friends of Watermelon Pie!

Welcome to the 2nd Watermelon Pie newsletter. Watermelon Pie is a social recipe sharing platform for home cooks, and we are happy to share a few highlights from July.

Throughout the past month, the Watermelon Pie team was busy expanding the team and designing the next version of Watermelon Pie based on feedback from our beta users.  We were also accepted into the Maine Center for Entrepreneurship’s FoodTech program, and we have been taking advantage of the amazing coaching and mentoring opportunities that this program provides.

And most importantly, we have been cooking like it’s Summer in Maine - fresh local meat and veggies on the grill, desserts made with delicious berries and eating outside as much as possible.  One of our favorite aspects of this Summer in particular has been overhearing our friends and family ask each other “is this recipe on Watermelon Pie yet?”  And we love it even more when the answer is “Yes!”

If you would like to see what others are sharing, join our beta of home cooks!  From the simplest pineapple dessert to the best blueberry muffins, home cooking wisdom is being captured, shared, discussed, recreated and celebrated on Watermelon Pie.

We are still very early in our journey but the enthusiasm and support that we have received so far is so encouraging - and we truly can’t wait to share more about our evolution with you in the coming months.

Here’s how you can support our startup journey:

Thank you and Happy Cooking!

And here’s a fun recipe for your next bbq. This recipe was texted between friends many times before it finally made it to Watermelon Pie.
